Mine were older cones with foam surrounds, and yours are later, likely VOLT units.

But maybe keep both? IMHO, the Defy 7 and JA-30 are completely different animals, both useful! :-) Anyway, Good Luck to U and report back your findings if u make a move! The re-issue is not close in flavor but not bad.

I am worried about the match of JA30 with the Proac D100. My experience with Proac's (Response 1 and 2) is that the bass tends to be loose with tube amps. Your Defy 7 has great power and surely better control than JA30. doctorjohnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11301768655128512295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3395121002488101245.post-38550112075527901752022-05-13T16:56:15.141-04:002022-05-13T16:56:15.141-04:00You said that the ja30 mk1 is better than ja30 mk2...You said that the ja30 mk1 is better than ja30 mk2.. but everybody says the mk2 is more real life, and with better stage, being magic the same way.
I was thinking replace my defy 7 for ja30 mk1 fir my proac d100.. is it a good choice? But here are my 2 cents.

When it comes to the Jadis Orchestra alone, for me the answer is a definite YES, a preamp would GREATLY enhance the sound, bringing in much more control and perceived power that would benefit any loudspeaker.

As for the system, it seems to have very high quality doctorjohnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11301768655128512295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3395121002488101245.post-8077525463038284352011-07-03T05:21:46.587-04:002011-07-03T05:21:46.587-04:00Dear Doctorjohn,
