I connected the preamp to an re-capped Aiyima A07 amp with new, way better op amps then came installed stock. Subjectively to my ear they are the best so far--they provide a remarkably "smoother" output with superior clarity & definition of individual instrument timbres in classical orchestral music. I'm using 8 layers presently. You can experiment with thickness. The additional benefit is it will improve the sound of other small tube devices to my ear subjectively at least.
